Ahead of the full release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Sega has revealed official Mega Man DLC. The addition of Mega Man had been previously rumored, but the developer has finally made the news official via a new trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, giving fans an idea of what to expect.

While some gamers are already playing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds via early access, the rest of fans are awaiting the full launch on September 25. While the game’s new features, such as CrossWorlds and customizable Gadgets, have stirred excitement, this latest DLC announcement is even better news for fans of the Blue Bomber.

Mega Man DLC is coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in 2026

As part of the recent PlayStation State of Play on September 24, Sega revealed that Mega Man is coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as part of the Season Pass. In a new trailer, the character can be seen in action, riding the new Rush Roadstar vehicle, which looks like the character’s robotic dog. In addition to Mega Man, the DLC will add Proto Man as a playable character. Beyond new racers, the Wily Castle course was revealed, offering a Mega Man-themed experience. The track looks to include some of the more iconic elements from the series, which should please fans.

It is worth pointing out that gamers will have to purchase the Season Pass separately or opt for the more expensive Deluxe Edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in order to get this Mega Man content. So far, the DLC does not have a release date, but Sega currently notes that it is coming sometime in 2026.

While fans will have to wait until next year to play as Mega Man, there is a lot of other content on offer with Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. For example, the Season Pass includes several other collaborations coming soon, such as ones for Minecraft and SpongeBob SquarePants. Furthermore, Hatsune Miku will be available in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as a free playable character at launch, with more Sega crossover racers coming in subsequent months.

It seems like Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is shaping up to be packed with new content. Besides the crossovers with other IPs, the base game includes many characters and courses based on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. It will be interesting to see if this can help the game stand out from the other racing titles releasing this year.
